Well, it looks like the youth can’t seem to let go of snitch culture just like how Peter Quill can’t let go of Gamora. From actual people snitching on others to self-snitching or as twelve would call it: Self-incrimination.
Since hip-hop culture and rappers have had a huge influence on the youth, snitching has been viewed very negatively. But what if your mom was killed in a failed robbery attempt and you happened to see the person who did the inhumane act? Would you tell the authorities or would you be silent out of ‘’loyalty’’ to the ‘’streets’’ and your favorite ‘’gangster’’ rapper who would MOST LIKELY cooperate with the feds when shit hits the fan?
According to the culture: the streets are done because many things that are being said don’t seem like it is. The youth has questioned snitch culture ever since THE MOST NOTORIOUS THUGS like Tekashi 6IX9INE and Gunna got their gangster tested. And well they folded like origami.
Are you a snitch when you tell the cops what happened because you happen to be an eyewitness of an event or are you a snitch when you get caught in a criminal act and tell on your day one homies? Even today’s youth culture and the so-called ‘’streets’’ can’t keep up with their own playground snitch politics.
But are the cops even needed when you have people who are DUMB enough to snitch on themselves by recording themselves for ‘’clout’’ while committing crimes? Or should we all just accept that we are all civilians because when faced with football numbers you are DEFINITELY willing to tell on your ‘’day one’’ homies for a burger, fries, and some diet coke?
