Nowadays, music has taken it upon itself to become the unwitting spokesperson for all things toxic. From rappers like Future to singers like SZA. Nowadays the consumer of music has a kink for toxicity and we’re wondering WHAT THE HELL happened.
‘’I Fuck Him Cause I Miss You’’ Is what RnB / Pop singer Solana Rowe also known as ‘’SZA’’ preaches on her second studio album: ‘’SOS’’. Young impressionable females seem to relate to it a lot. Sounds about fatherless right? Well her whole album in a nutshell is basically cringey ex-boyfriend talk and how she hates and loves him at the same time. Something only an edgy 14-year-old girl relates to who thinks that ‘’the world’’ doesn’t understand her ‘’feelings’’.
And then we have Nayvadius Wilburn also known as Future, a grown man with 8 DIFFERENT BABY MAMA’S, almost age 40, and raps lyrics like: ‘’If She Catch Me Cheating I Will Never Tell Her Sorry.’’ Sounds about misogynistic. But we surely want this Andrew Tate binge-watching hyper-masculine generation cheating on our daughters and sisters without taking any accountability for it right?
But Future and SZA aren’t the only GROWN people in the music industry promoting toxic lyrics. Musicians like: The Weeknd, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Brent Faiyaz, and even Chloe Bailey lean in on the toxic audience to generate sales to recoup the loan money that they got from the Illuminati.
Maybe we should blame the unknown A&Rs who always hide behind the curtains of this shitshow for greenlighting songs and lyrics like this. Or maybe just maybe we should take a look at OURSELVES as consumers for even allowing this toxic shit to be a demand on the market.
